With profound grief, after a 3-year battle with cancer, the Lord, in His infinite wisdom, has called Aaltje Hendrika (Rita) VandenBeukel-Sommer, our dear wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother, sister and sister-in-law, from this life to her eternal home. She passed away in her 74th year, peacefully in her sleep at 3:50 pm on Monday, May 13, 2019 and was surrounded by her family.
Loving wife of Jim VandenBeukel, for nearly 50 years. Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Karen (Ron) Kranendonk of Brantford, Erika (Dirk) Schaap of LaSalette, Debra (Corneil) Heerschap of Springford, Jim VandenBeukel. of Norwich, and Henk (Emese) VandenBeukel of Stoney Creek.

Family and friends will be received at the ARN-LOCKIE FUNERAL HOME, 45 Main Street West, Norwich, ON 519-863-3020 on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 9:30-10:15 a.m. at the Netherlands Reformed Congregation, 45 Main Street East, Norwich, ON .
Funeral service will be held at the Netherlands Reformed Congregation at 10:30 a.m., D.V. Reverend E. Hakvoort officiating. Interment at the Springford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bethany Care Home - Norwich.
