Aletta Arendina - The Lord took out of our midst, surrounded by her family, at home on Thursday December 24, 2015, Aletta van der Spek of Norwich at the age of 104. Beloved wife of the late Cornelis. Loving mother of Greta Sandham and husband John of Tillsonburg, Aletta (Ardie) Scholten and husband Derk of Otterville, Honny Knowles of Tillsonburg, Francine Heerschap and husband Matt of Norwich, Joann Breitman and husband Dr. Alan Bernstein of Toronto, Corney and wife Wilma of Sweaburg. She will be sadly missed by 37 grandchildren, 75 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren. Survived by sister Jans van Erk-Bos, sisters-in-law Nel Bos-Dissel, Janny Bos-Ooms, all of The Netherlands. Predeceased by daughter Jane Vanden Brink and husband Henry, sons-in-law Dennis Knowles, Martin Breitman, grandchildren Rene de Jonge, baby Knowles, great grandson Nathan van der Spek, 5 sisters and 5 brothers. Friends will be received at THE ARN-LOCKIE FUNERAL HOME, 45 Main St. W., Norwich (519) 863-3020 on Saturday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Old Reformed Congregation, Salford on Monday December 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. D.V. Elder R. Bredeweg officiating. Interment Old Reformed Congregation Cemetery, Burgessville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Netherlands Reformed Congregation (for Bethany Care Home).
