Peacefully, with her family at her side, at the Woodstock General Hospital, on Saturday, April 13, 2019, Carol Clark, of Norwich, ON, in her 83rd year. Beloved wife for 55 years to the late Frank Clark (2011). Loving mother of Sherry and Keith Dewhirst of Waterford and Lori and John Rettie of Norwich. Cherished by her grandchildren Fraser Dewhirst, Reid Dewhirst (Kiera), Chelsey Cavanaugh (Travis), Kylee Dewhirst, Lisa Smedley (Anthony), Nicole Paton (Donnie), Adam Vermeersch (Laura), Kelli Rettie, Scott Culbert (Renke), Marcie Culbert, Ian Rettie, Lexi Rettie and great-grandchildren Zach, Tyler, Alyssa, Mya, Jax, Jesse and Bohdan. Carol will be dearly missed by her son-in-law Noel Vermeersch and sisters Muriel Clark and Rosemary Underhill. Predeceased by her daughter Kathy Vermeersch (2011), son-in-law Mark Culbert (1996), brothers Raymond and Ron and sister June. Carol was an active member of the Norwich United Church and the Ladies Auxiliary – Royal Canadian Legion – Branch 190. Carol was a passionate gardener and took great pride in her family and home. Family and friends will be received at the ARN-LOCKIE FUNERAL HOME, 45 Main Street West, Norwich, ON, on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, and Wednesday from 10-10:45 am. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 11am at the funeral home. Reverend Sydney Elias to officiate. Interment will be at the Gordon Walker Memorial Cemetery. Donations in Carol’s memory may be made to the Norwich United Church or the Woodstock Hospital – Palliative Care Unit.
