Obituary for Doug WILSON

Wilson, Charles Douglas
On Thursday October 6th, 2022, Charles Douglas Wilson of Tillsonburg, ON and previously of Springford, ON, ended his courageous battle. Doug was in his 81st year.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Barbara Bell, their children Greg (Jolene) of Bright, Garth (Roberta) of Burgessville, as well as the greatest source of joy in his life, his grandchildren Cole, Eva, Melanie, Russell, Corina and Angela. He and Barb spent countless hours traveling rural Ontario missing very few of their sports games.

Also survived by his sisters & brothers-in-law Eleanor & Harvey and Richard & Helen, along with his much-loved nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Charles and Mildred (Fallowfield), brother Lyle, sister Jean (Alvin) Hopkins and in-laws Joyce, Bill and Jean Bell.

Doug was born in Woodstock, Ontario in 1942 and always enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and agriculture growing up. Doug graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1969 with a degree in Engineering and became a Professional Engineer shortly after.

Doug enjoyed his work through the years with the Federal Water Survey, private carpentry, 20 years as a municipal building inspector and drainage official and in retirement back in the construction industry and construction retail.

Family and friends will be received at the Arn-Lockie Funeral Home, 45 Main Street West, Norwich, ON 519-863-3020, on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 6-8 pm, on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 from 10-10:45 am at Open Arms Church, 44 Tillson Avenue, Tillsonburg, ON.

Funeral service will be held at Open Arms Church on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 11 am. Interment will follow at the Springford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
