Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, and the compassionate care of the staff from Telfer Place, Long Term Care, Paris, Ontario, on Saturday, January 19, 2019, in her 93rd year, Dora Mae Jean Scott (nee Sherman). Beloved wife of the late Laurie “Sam” Scott (1987). Loving mother of the late Valerie Jull and her husband James, Judy Takacs and her husband Tibor, the late Randal Scott and his wife Jane, Laurie Burnett and her husband James and Tracy Morris and her husband Mark. Dora was cherished by her 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her brother Ken Sherman, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her bothers George, Stan, Bert, Orville, Lorne and sisters Eileen, Iva and Gertrude. Family and friends will be received at the ARN-LOCKIE FUNERAL HOME, 45 Main Street West, Norwich, ON 519-863-3020, on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, and Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from 10-10:45 am, at the Crossroads Congregational Church, 6 Hatchley Road, Scotland, ON. Funeral service will be held at the Church at 11 am, with Pastor Ron Germain officiating. Interment at the Burford Pioneer Cemetery. A large and important part of Dora’s life, was love of her community and friends, with the Norwich Seniors and Crossroads Congregation Church being a large part of that. Donations in memory of Dora, may be made to Crossroads Congregational Church or the Telfer Place, Long Term Care.
