To our deep sorrow, it has pleased the Lord, to take out of our midst, after a brief illness, our caring father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law and uncle at the age of 83, on Wednesday, February 27, 2019. Beloved husband of the late Jennie for 53 years. Loving father of John and Jane, and Henk and Petra Veldhuizen. Cherished grandfather of Michelle, Richard and Aline, Karen, Alyssa and Darren, Rianne, Sharon, Rachel, Leanna, Esther, Derek, William, Nelina, and great-granddaughter Leah Veldhuizen. John will be dearly missed by his brother, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Predeceased by his sister Betty, brothers Albertus and Evert and sister-in-law Jannie, Cindy, Marj and brother-in-law Marty. Family and friends will be received at the NETHERLANDS REFORMED CONGREGATION, 45 Main Street East, Norwich, ON, on Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 2 – 4 and 7- 9 p.m. and Monday, March 4, 2019 from 10 – 10:45 a.m. Funeral service will be held at the church at 11 a.m., D.V., Reverend E. Hakvoort officiating. Spring interment at the Norwich Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John, can be made to the Bethany Care Home of Norwich.
