Jan "John" ~ To our deepest sorrow, it has pleased the Lord to take from our midst, after a short illness, our beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law and uncle on Friday, October 19, 2018, in his 65th year. Born on October 30, 1953 in Hoofddorp, Netherlands.
Beloved husband of Joanne Overbeek (de Pater). Loving father of Alice Klaassen and her husband Chris; of Verschoyle, Len Overbeek and his wife Melissa; of Woodstock, John Overbeek and his wife Andrea; of Ingersoll, Jacqueline Walker and her husband Chris; of Ottawa, Joanne Howey and her husband Jason; of Dorchester, Dave Overbeek and his wife Shellie; of Courtland, Esther MacKinnon and her husband Scott; of Delhi and Laura Fehr and her husband Neil; of Tillsonburg.
Cherished by his 41 grandchildren. Predeceased by his grandson Kevin (2007) and parents Jan and Aaltje Overbeek.
Family and friends were received at the ARN-LOCKIE FUNERAL HOME, 45 Main Street West, Norwich, ON 519-863-3020, on Monday, October 22, 2018 from 6:00-9:00 pm and Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 9:00-9:45 a.m. at the Reformed Church of North America, Otterville, Ontario, 318 Main Street West, Otterville. Funeral service was held at the church at 10:00 a.m., D.V. Reverend A. Geuze officiating. Interment at the Springford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory to the Bethany Care Home-Norwich or the Rehoboth Christian School, appreciated.
