Jean Maxine (Phelps) - of Norwich, passed away surrounded by her family at Woodstock Hospital, on Wednesday February 4, 2016 in her 83rd year. Dear wife of Alfred Pinter. Beloved mother of Catherine Evans and Glenn Tipps, Alfred Junior and Linda Pinter, Raymond Pinter and Pamela Ogden, Roger and Jan Pinter, and Joan Kubbernus. Cherished grandmother of Bart and Crystal, Morgan and Marissa, Brooke and Jason, Michelle, Nathan and Mindy, Amanda and Ryan, Jason, Derek, Kyle, Jake and Maxine. Loving great grandmother of Addison and Ethan, Jackson and Makayla, Krystal, Daxton, Cameron and Caleb and Skye. Sister of Russell and Lillian Phelps, Doug and Dorothy Phelps, Donald and Velma Phelps, Mary and Gordon Searles, Helen and Donald Batson, Donna and Ralph Coates, Dorothy and Raymond Chapman, and Ruthanne and Ernie McDonald. She will be missed by her in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by parents Harry and Vera Phelps and infant son David. Jean was a hardworking and determined woman who loved crosswords and playing Scrabble. She was a kind and loving person who will be dearly missed by her family, friends and neighbours. Friends will be received at THE ARN-LOCKIE FUNERAL HOME, 45 Main St. W., Norwich (519) 863-3020 on Friday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service to honour Jean's life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday February 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. David Snihur officiating. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to Red Cross or Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
