Jim ~ Peacefully, with his loving family by his side, at Sakura House - Hospice, Woodstock, ON, on Friday, August 24, 2018, in his 55th year, Jim Van Vliet. Beloved husband of Tina (nee Retsinas). Loving father of Michelle, Andrew, Nathan and Justin Van Vliet. Cherished brother of Bert and his wife Marian, Meint and his wife Cathy, Liz Bos and her husband John, Rick and his wife Joyce, Marg Boesterd and her husband Bill, Cornie and his wife Vicky, John and his wife Ria and Fred Van Vliet.
Jim will be dearly missed by his in-laws Peter and Cobie Retsinas, and their children Jeany and her friend Raymond Stiltz, Peter and his wife Karin, Tom, Jack and his wife Tia and John Retsinas, brother-in-law John Erkelens, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Cornelis (2015) and Annachien (2000), and sister Jane Erkelens (2002).
Family and friends were received at the ARN-LOCKIE FUNERAL HOME, 45 Main Street West, Norwich, On, on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm and Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at the HERITAGE REFORMED CONGREGATION, 685 Main Street South, Burgessville, ON, from 10-10:30 am. Funeral service was held at HERITAGE REFORMED CONGREGATION at 10:30 am., D.V. Pastor Lipsy to officiate. Interment at the Norwich Cemetery. Donations in Jim's memory may be made to the Sakura House – Hospice or Youth for Christ – Norwich, would be appreciated.
